ToothPic is one of the finalists for the Intellectual Property Award 2021 at Expo Dubai

ToothPic and its patented authentication technology flew to Expo Dubai as one of the finalists for the “Intellectual Property Award” competition

It’s not an everyday thing being selected among more than two hundred patented technologies to present our cybersecurity solutions for the Intellectual Property Award 2021: the competition between the best patents of Italian Public Research.

Our CEO Giulio Coluccia flew to Expo Dubai, at the Italian Pavilion, to introduce ToothPic’s solution on one of the most prestigious stages for technological innovation at the highest level of Italian universities and research centers.

ToothPic has competed with other four patented solutions in the “Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data” area for the final prize of 10.000 Euro, used it for the valorization of the patent.

THE CEREMONY DAY

The ceremony has been opened by the representatives of the Institutions who make this event possible: Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico (MiSE), in collaboration with NETVAL and ICE ITA agency.

In their inspiring speeches, it was highlighted how important it is to enhance the technical, scientific, and intellectual character of the technologies presented and to show the contribution made by technological progress, economic growth, and the improvement in our daily life.

ToothPic has competed in the “Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data” area as a deep tech company, founded by 4 Professors and Researches of the Politecnico di Torino, that has invented a passwordless authentication technology.

In his introduction, our CEO underlined the innovative character that makes our technology unique and how it can positively impact cyber-attacks in many different types of markets.

In this scenario, did you know that every smartphone camera is unique and allows you to recognize the device among all the existing ones? This is because the camera sensor leaves an accidental and invisible trace on all the photos taken. By analyzing this trace, a smartphone can be uniquely identified. That’s why in ToothPic we have used these features to develop and patent a cybersecurity technology to securely access to online services.

Even though the prize went to Università degli Studi di Padova, we are grateful for taking part in this inspiring event and being recognized as one of the most disruptive technologies in the Italian landscape. Congratulations to Università degli Studi di Padova for its win in the Cybersecurity area and to the winners of all the other categories.
